Community relations

Along with Rio Tinto, we believe that good community relations are a necessary part of our business.  Our communities are diverse and are sometimes different to those of Rio Tinto's mining operations but we are committed to building and maintaining strong and mutually beneficial relationships. 

Indigenous employment and training is a key area of Rio Tinto's Business with Communities programme, with numerous partnerships and projects working towards increasing opportunities for our neighbouring Indigenous communities. Rio Tinto Marine is committed to supporting local communities and working towards this goal with Rio Tinto.  

We are also committed to ensuring the welfare of the seafarers visiting Australia due to our operations, that is why we are partnering with the Mission to Seafarers,who offer assistance to seafarers in Victorian ports.
