Rio Tinto Marine is headquartered in Melbourne with worldwide representation.  It employs approximately 50 shipping professionals.  Representative offices are located in London, Brisbane, Perth, Denver, Montreal, Shanghai, Singapore, Palabora and Tokyo.

Rio Tinto Marine manages all Rio Tinto freight exposure in all Marine markets through its portfolio management group which is centralised in Melbourne.  In this way, freight risk for the whole of Rio Tinto is actively managed to ensure that value is maximised.  The key drivers of success are capable people, economies of skill and strong risk management processes.
